Learn French for real.
Short lessons that actually teach, real conversations out loud, and progress you can trust. With Gaston, a rooster who takes your French very personally.
Your course is a métro line.
Line 1 is a trip to Paris: about 10 weeks at 10 minutes a day. Each stop takes about a week, teaches you to do something real and ends with a final scene. Pick a stop.

Introduce yourself, order at a café, find your way, talk about your day simply.
- Zone 2Everyday life
Handle everyday situations, tell simple stories.
- Zone 3On your own
Get by on your own when travelling, tell an experience, give your opinion.
- Zone 4Real conversations
Follow a conversation at natural speed on many topics.
One rule. One sentence.
Every lesson has one goal you can name. The rule comes first, in plain English, right before you use it.
- Grammar explained the way a good teacher would
- You write and say real sentences, you don’t just tap tiles
- Every correct answer counts: pain au chocolat or chocolatine, both are right
GRAMMAR · STOP 2
Saying “my”
mère is feminine, so “my” is ma.
Every word. With its sound.
Silent letters, nasal vowels, liaisons: pronunciation gets real lessons, and every French word comes with its sound.
- Native voices, checked by a French speaker
- A simple pronunciation key made for English speakers
- Speak, and the app checks that you were understood
Croissant sounds like krwa-sahn: the t is silent.
Talk with Gaston. Out loud.
A real conversation in natural, everyday French, about things you care about. Cheese, for instance. He has opinions.
Gaston is speaking
Magnifique ! Quel est ton fromage préféré ?
Wonderful! What’s your favorite cheese?Repeat slowlySay it more simplySubtitles
Natural French
Gaston talks like a real person, one short question at a time. No corrections in the middle of your sentence.
Help when you’re stuck
Subtitles, a slower replay, or the same idea in simpler words. Never an answer written for you.
Your voice stays on your iPhone
It’s turned into text on the device. Only the text goes to Gaston. At the end, a short debrief.
Progress you can trust.
Every lesson ends with what you can now do. Every word gets a strength computed from your answers, and it drops when you stop reviewing. Reviews bring it back just in time.
- You can now introduce yourself
- You can now order at a café
- You can now ask for the bill and pay
Gaston exaggerates his feelings. Never your results.
How strong is this word for you?
Still strong. No review needed yet.
The strength is the chance you still remember it today. Below 90%, the word comes back in your review, right before you forget it.
Cocorico ! Your daily wake-up call.
One reminder a day, at the time you pick. Gaston brings the drama, never the guilt. Ten minutes later, you’ve learned something real.
Cocorico 8:00 AM
Cocorico ! Waking people up is literally my job. Your lesson is ready.
Cocorico 12:30 PM
I saved you a croissant. And a 10-minute lesson.
Cocorico 7:00 PM
Bonsoir ! A little French before dinner? Very chic.
Questions, answered.
Is there a free trial?
No. You take a real first lesson before you decide, so you know exactly what you’re paying for. Then it’s one subscription, monthly or yearly, with no ads.
What do I need?
An iPhone with iOS 26 or later. There’s no account to create: your progress syncs with your iCloud.
I already know some French. Do I start from zero?
No. Tell Cocorico what you know and start further along, in the zone that fits. An optional placement test helps you choose.
Will I learn slang?
No. Cocorico teaches standard French, the kind that works everywhere.
How does Talk use my voice?
Your iPhone turns your voice into text, right on the device. Only that text is sent to write Gaston’s reply, and you can delete your Talk history anytime.
When does Cocorico launch?
Soon, on the App Store. The link will be right here on launch day.
